Apple Watch Satellite Connectivity Coming in 2023, New iMac Model With M3 Chip: Mark Gurman

Apple is reportedly working on adding satellite connectivity to the Apple Watch. This could happen this year or in 2023. The company is rumored to be working on adding satellite communication for emergencies to its iPhone 14 line.

This was previously thought to be the case with last year’s iPhone 13 line. Another report says that the company may be working on an iMac that will run on an M3 chip by 2023.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that Apple’s upcoming Apple Watch models might be able to connect to satellites. According to previous reports, Apple is working on using LEO satellite communication to make calls and send messages without having a 4G or 5G cell phone connection. It was not on the iPhone 13 series, but it could be on this year’s iPhone 14 line.

Globalstar may be working with them to offer this feature, which is said to work only in emergencies. This means that the company may be working with Globalstar. Gurman says that the satellite company agreed to buy 17 satellites for “continuous satellite services” in February for a “potential” client, who paid “hundreds of millions of dollars,” according to the New York Times. Apple or Globalstar haven’t said anything about a partnership that would make this feature available on new Apple Watches or iPhones, so we don’t know yet.

A new chip called the Apple M2 will be released later this year as a replacement for the M1, released in 2020. This new chip is called the Apple M2. As many as nine new Macs are rumored to be tested by Apple with four different M2-based chips.

These include an entry-level MacBook Air, 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and a Mac Pro. Even though Apple hasn’t said anything about new devices, Gurman thinks the company is also working on a new iMac model with an M3 chipset that could be out in 2023.

Expect to see a new iPhone 14 series later this year. It is rumored that the most minor “mini” form factor, which was first used in the iPhone 12 series, will be ditched. For the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, Apple is working on four different models.

A new iPhone 14 Max has a 6.7-inch screen for the first time on any other model. Apple is also said to be working on an iPhone 14 Pro Max, which has an even bigger screen. According to Gurman, a new A16 Bionic chip could be used in this year’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

As soon as June, Apple is expected to show off the next version of its iOS, iPad OS, Mac OS, and watch OS operating systems at its upcoming WWDC 2022 event.
