According to new research by France’s National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), an extensive number of individuals in France are having issues due to headphones.

The survey also revealed that roughly 25% of French individuals had hearing issues. The overuse of headphones is the primary cause of this.

The research also stated that declining quality of life, social isolation, and despair contributed to deafness. 1.86 lakh participants between 18 and 75 participated in the research.

The World Health Organization estimates that 150 million individuals worldwide are now dealing with hearing issues. The number is anticipated to reach 250 million by 2050.

Dr. Sharad Mohan, an ENT expert, asserts that using headphones or earbuds while listening to music at 85 dB or above might result in noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL).

Additionally, living in an environment with loud music might exacerbate hearing issues. Deafness may result from ignoring these symptoms.

How can this issue avoided?

Dr. Sharad Mohan, an expert in ENT, claims that noise-induced hearing loss may entirely avoided. However, one must reduce the amount of time spent using headphones for this.

He also said that it is essential to be mindful of the objects and noises that might harm your hearing.

Keep the sound slow when listening to music to prevent such occurrences.

Find a technique to avoid that area if you cannot muffle the sounds. Then, when you notice any issues, call your doctor immediately.
