Facebook is currently testing a few new features for Groups. These features include adding chat, audio, and feed channels and a more convenient method for users to access their favorite Facebook Groups.

Facebook group administrators may now designate certain areas inside their groups as channels, which are places where members of their communities can interact in more intimate, informal settings.

Community audio channels modeled after Discord will also be a feature, allowing administrators and group members to join and leave audio chats in real-time casually.

Owned by meta Facebook has revealed that it is developing a new sidebar that will make it easier for users to discover their favorite groups on the website.

The groups and the most recent actions, such as new posts or missed group conversations, are shown in the sidebar. Users can save their favorite groups, find new groups, or even start their own using this functionality.

Facebook group administrators will now be able to designate channels within their groups, enabling members to communicate in “smaller, more casual settings where they can have deeper discussions on common interests or organize their communities around topics in different formats,” according to the announcement.

The Facebook Groups’ audio channels will also be a part of this functionality. The administrators and group members can join and exit audio chats in real-time idly. The voice conversations on Discord are incredibly similar to this functionality.

Facebook Groups will now offer community feed channels in addition to the chat and audio channels so that community members may interact more easily.

“Admins may communicate and publish comments in their communities on subjects inside the group in their own time” thanks to this feature.

The aforementioned new functionalities of Meta for Facebook Groups are now undergoing testing. We can anticipate it reaching all users, most likely in the following months.
