Additionally, the newly introduced Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC from Qualcomm is anticipated to power all three of the series’ phones. But according to some earlier rumours, the Xiaomi 12S Pro would also be offered in a different model with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor.

Xiaomi revealed the release date for the Xiaomi 12S series by releasing a teaser picture. The event will be livestreamed on Xiaomi’s social media accounts on July 4 at 7 pm CST Asia (4:30 pm IST).

The relationship between Xiaomi and Leica, which was announced last month, is also highlighted in the teaser picture. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi 12S will be the three models that make up the series, the company revealed separately on Weibo.

In the next few days, Xiaomi will start building some buzz for its new smartphone lineup. Meanwhile, numerous recent rumours have indicated the next phone’s specs.

Specifications for the Xiaomi 12S series (expected)

One of the first smartphone families to use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that Qualcomm introduced last month is anticipated to be the Xiaomi 12S series. The newest Snapdragon processor will be used in new models from companies including Asus, Realme, and iQoo.

Additionally, Xiaomi will probably keep working with MediaTek to launch the Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition, which will be equipped with the chipmaker’s Dimensity 9000 SoC.

The Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro are anticipated to be available in the following configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity Edition reportedly comes in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB variants.

There are rumours that the Xiaomi 12S Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, supports 120W fast charging. However, the Compulsory Certification of China (3C or CCC) website said that the Xiaomi 12S Pro and the ordinary Xiaomi 12S would support 67W charging.

Recently, the Xiaomi 12S would ship with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and Android 12 out of the box. This SoC has a maximum clock speed of 3.19GHz.

The whole Xiaomi 12S series is also likely to include AMOLED panels with fast refresh rates and a metal shell to give consumers a premium appearance and feel.
