OxygenOS 13 is released with a new interface and spatial audio

OnePlus introduced OxygenOS 13 today at the launch event in New York City. The new Android 13-based skin will debut on the OnePlus 10 Pro as the company’s first smartphone.

Later this year, the OnePlus 10T will get OxygenOS 13, the firm claims. According to OnePlus, the user interface for its devices will be overhauled with rounded edges for app icons, widgets, and alerts, making it more user-friendly. The business said the new OxygenOS version has a new “Aquamorphic” look.

At its launch event in New York City, OnePlus announced the OxygenOS 13 and the OnePlus 10T 5G.

The Aquamorphic design of the new OxygenOS is supposed to be inspired by nature. The Aquamorphic design, according to OnePlus, literally means “like water.”

According to its developers, OxygenOS 13 is focused on giving users a hassle-free experience, and a user interface devoid of clutter.

To guarantee compatibility with the next OxygenOS 13 version, OnePlus said that OxygenOS 12 needed to get roughly 595 enhancements.

OxygenOS 13: New Features

According to the business, OxygenOS 13 will provide customers of OnePlus smartphones with a refreshed UI experience.

The corners of widgets, notification windows, and app icons will now be rounded. The manufacturer claims that circular edges are more adaptable than sharp edges.

The running applications will appear as floating windows in the task manager. The widgets and app alerts will also have this impact.

With OxygenOS 13, OnePlus is also adjusting to the always-on display (AOD) functionality.

Three new AOD user interfaces—Canvas AOD, Insight AOD, and Bitmoji AOD—have been launched. Additionally, OnePlus and Spotify have collaborated to make the Spotify widget available on AOD.

Thanks to this, users can easily switch between songs and manage their audio straight from the AOD. According to the firm, users would also have access to an AOD mode for “food delivery.”

Additionally, the Chinese corporation is enhancing a number of the current features. Fast Pair, Zen Mode, and the Smart Launcher will all be enhanced in OxygenOS 13.

According to claims, the upgraded AI Booster provides 30% greater smoothness, 20% quicker app installation, and 10% faster app launches.

It is also said that the Smart Launcher would improve a user’s ability to operate their phone. The business claims that the sidebar window has also been updated.

Users may instantly browse all the tools, applications, and frequently used apps by tapping on All for rapid access. According to OnePlus, the Nearby Share function has also been enhanced with lower latency and quicker transfers.

To offer an enhanced Android Safety System, Google and OnePlus worked together.

The Android 13 feature will allow users to authorize the appearance of pop-ups and give them greater control over specific applications’ alerts.

With OxygenOS 13, a virtual lock box will separate the files from other programs. Additionally, the partnership enabled OnePlus to include Audio Switch to OxygenOS 13.

Similar to features provided by Apple and Samsung, OnePlus is also introducing a Spatial Audio feature to the new OxygenOS that changes depending on the direction and movement of a user’s head.

OxygenOS 13 is accessible.

According to the manufacturer, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be the first device to support OxygenOS 13. Later, the freshly released OnePlus 10T 5G will get the update.

Besides these two smartphones, OnePlus has not yet specified when OxygenOS 13 will be available or if other devices will be compatible with the upgrade.
