Oppo Reno 8 Series with 50MP Triple Rear Camera, 80W Super Flash Charge

On Monday, Oppo announced the Reno 8 Series in China, including the Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+ smartphones. 

All three phones have the same design and a triple back camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel sensor and 80W fast charging. 

The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC is used in the Oppo Reno 8. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC is used in the Reno 8 Pro, and the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset is used in the Reno 8 Pro+.

Price and availability of the Oppo Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+

The basic 8GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the Oppo Reno 8 costs CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 29,000). 

The base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 31,400), while the top-end model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 34,900). 

The phone is available for pre-order in China and will be available on June 1 in Black, Blue, and a multicolor variant.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro is priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 34,900) for the basic model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. 

The 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs CNY 3,199 (approximately Rs. 37,200), while the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs CNY 3,499 (about Rs. 37,500).  

It will be available for pre-order starting June 11 in Black, Blue, and a multicolor version.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ is priced at CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs. 43,000) for the basic 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model, and CNY 3,999 (about Rs. 46,500) for the top-end 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. 

Pre-orders for the Oppo phone are already open, and it will be on sale on June 1 in Black, Green, and Grey color choices.

Specifications of the Oppo Reno 8

The Oppo Reno 8 has a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and runs Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1 on top. 

Oppo smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC and up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

The Oppo Reno 8 has a triple rear camera configuration. It has a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens, a 2-megapixel black-and-white camera with an f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 lens. 

The device has a 32-megapixel front camera sensor with an f/2.4 lens for selfies and video chats.

Up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage is available on the Oppo Reno 8. The phone has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.3, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C connector for connectivity. 

An accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor are among the sensors onboard. 

The phone has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the touchscreen and enables the face to unlock for biometric identification.

The Oppo Reno 8 has a 4,500mAh battery that supports rapid charging with 80W Super Flash Charge. The phone is 179 grams and measures 160×73.4×7.67mm.

The Oppo Reno 8 Pro has a 6.62-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED E4 display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and runs ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. 

The Oppo smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core processor and up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

A 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens is the focal point of the triple rear camera system. An 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens is also included, and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 lens.

The smartphone also has the Mariana MariSilicon X processor from the firm, which improves video and still images. The Oppo Reno 8 Pro has a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.4 lens for selfies and video calls.

Finally, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+ dual-SIM (Nano) runs ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. A 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412) OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection is included on the phone. 

The octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC in the Oppo smartphone is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

A triple rear camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and f/1.8 lens is also included on the Oppo Reno 8 Pro+. An 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 lens is included.
