Oppo Reno 8 Series Launch Date Set on May 23: Expected Specifications

According to an invite sent out on Monday, the Oppo Reno 8 series will be released on May 23. The Oppo Reno 8, the Reno 8 Pro, and the Reno 8 SE are slated to be part of the series.

The Reno 8 Lite is also slated to be part of the series; however, it may initially be confined to certain areas. The Reno 8 is likely to have Qualcomm’s next Snapdragon SoC, which is slated to launch on May 20 and is dubbed the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. 

The MediaTek Dimensity SoC is expected to be used in the Reno 8 SE.

Launch of the Oppo Reno 8 series

According to the invitation issued on Weibo, the Oppo Reno 8 series launch will take place on May 23 at 7 pm CST Asia (4:30 pm IST). It does not provide any further information.

The Oppo Reno 8 series, on the other hand, is believed to feature the Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 SE, according to rumors. 

The new phones will be the successors of the Reno 7 series, which included the Reno 7 5G, Reno 7 Pro 5G, and Reno 7 SE 5G, and was released in China in November of last year. 

In February, the Reno 7 5G and Reno 7 Pro 5G made their debut in India, despite several variations from the series that debuted in China.

Although Oppo has not announced the Reno 8 series’ arrival in India, the normal Reno 8 is expected to arrive by the end of June at the very least.

In addition to the Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 SE, the new smartphone line might include the Reno 8 Lite, an entry-level Reno phone exclusive to Europe at first. 

It shares many features with the Reno 7 Lite 5G, including a similar look.

Specifications of the Oppo Reno 8 (expected)

According to rumors, the Oppo Reno 8 will have a 6.62-inch full-HD+ E4 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is also likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, which will be unveiled on May 20. 

The Reno 8 is also said to include an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

Specifications of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro (expected)

A 6.7-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate is expected on the Oppo Reno 8 Pro. The MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max SoC is expected to use the Pro model. 

It’s also expected to include the same 4,500mAh battery as the Reno 8 and compatibility with 80W fast charging.

Specifications of the Oppo Reno 8 SE (expected)

According to a current source, the Oppo Reno 8 SE would ship with Android 12 pre-installed with a 6.43-inch full-HD+ display. The phone is also expected to arrive with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC and 6GB or 8GB RAM. 

It’s also expected to include a triple camera arrangement on the back, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The Reno 8 SE, like the rumored Reno 8 and Reno 8 Pro, is said to include a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

Specifications of the Oppo Reno 8 Lite (expected)

The Oppo Reno 8 Lite is believed to boast a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 octa-core processor. With a 64-megapixel primary sensor, the phone might include a triple back camera arrangement. 

The Reno 8 Lite also sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera and a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging capabilities.
