OnePlus May Restrict Alert Slider to Pro Models and Oppo Flagships: Report

Since the debut of the OnePlus One, OnePlus has included a tactile alert slider on its smartphones.

It is located on the phone’s top left side and enables the user to adjust its sound profile to silent, vibrate, or ring without unlocking the screen.

According to a source, this practice will soon change, and the popular alert slider will be limited to the company’s flagship models. According to the leak, the OnePlus Nord 2T, which was just released, was the final mid-range handset to include an alert slider.

The alert slider will only be available on Pro models and Oppo flagships. The OnePlus 10T is expected to be released sans the alert slider.

On Twitter, well-known tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) claimed that just a handful OnePlus phones will now have the alert slider. According to the tweet, the OnePlus Nord 2T, released in May, was the last device to have an alert slider.

The functionality will now be included in additional Pro models and select Oppo flagships. Meanwhile, the alert slider is expected to be removed from the company’s rumored OnePlus 10T.

The alert slider is also absent in a leaked render of the smartphone. However, OnePlus is yet to confirm the rumor, so take the information with a grain of salt.

In collaboration with Onsitego, Yogesh Brar has revealed the OnePlus 10T renders and essential information. The device is black with no alert slider in the leaked renders.

It is also shown using a hole-punch display design. The OnePlus 10 is anticipated to be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

It is believed to include a triple-back camera system, with the primary sensor being 50 megapixels. The phone might consist of a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies. It’s also expected to have a 4,800mAh battery.
