Microsoft Edge to Get Clarity Boost Controller Bar New Gaming Home Page and More in Windows 11

Microsoft has announced a slew of new gaming features for Windows 11 and Microsoft Edge, including windowed games optimization, a new HDR calibration app, a new controller bar, a new gaming home page, built-in Clarity Boost, and a new Efficiency mode, all to improve the gaming experience. The latest gaming enhancements will be available in the Microsoft Edge desktop edition. Many of these are being evaluated as part of the Windows Insider program.

Here’s how they’re organized. Windowed game optimizations are planned to lower latency and provide gaming features such as Auto HDR and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).

The new HDR calibration software is being created to increase the color accuracy and consistency of HDR displays. A PC Game Pass widget will also be available in Windows 11, allowing players to explore new games and quickly return to previously played titles.

In the Windows Insider program, a controller bar is also being tested, which appears when a controller is attached to a Windows 11 PC. It is meant to allow gamers to quickly access their most recently played games and popular game launchers such as the Xbox app without using a mouse or keyboard.

“They’re implementing many things with Windows 11 to thrill PC gamers truly.” Because there’s a new DirectX, DirectX 12 Ultimate will provide game creators with even more options to boost speed and minimize latency. Microsoft Edge is likewise improving to match the demands of contemporary gaming. Microsoft Edge’s desktop edition will soon get some exclusive new gaming features.

A new customized gaming home page will be added to the browser, including gaming-related material such as game guides, live streams, game highlights, competitions, and upcoming and freshly released titles.

It will also have Xbox Cloud Gaming connections, allowing players to quickly access their cloud gaming library and recently played titles.

The desktop version of Microsoft Edge can give bright and clear graphics when playing games, thanks to the built-in Clarity Boost feature.

Through the new Game menu in Microsoft Edge, gamers can instantly access popular free games such as Microsoft Solitaire, Atari Asteroids, Microsoft Jewel, and Microsoft Edge’s unique Surf game.

When a PC game is opened, a new Efficiency mode will assist increase gaming performance on Windows 10 and 11 by automatically decreasing the browser’s resource use.

Since its release in October of last year, Windows 11 has received several substantial improvements. With these planned improvements, Microsoft hopes to persuade gamers to upgrade to its next operating system.

Furthermore, with these changes, Microsoft Edge may become a distinct offering for gamers, helping it compete against other popular browsers such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.
