Instagram officially confirms the app's visual style, plus its typeface

In a move to deliver a visual revamp to its app, the Meta-owned photo-sharing network Instagram has announced adding a brighter icon and its font. The company said that its new design approach places information at the center, focusing on simplicity and self-expression.

“We are introducing new vitality and purpose to our colours, typeface, logo and other brand aspects with a redesigned visual identity. Our new approach is designed to embrace continual innovation to help us build more immersive and inclusive experiences for our community,” Instagram stated in a statement.

The network claimed that its new typeface, Instagram Sans, is built with legacy and incorporates numerous worldwide scripts. “Our vivid gradient was reinvented utilizing a new 3D modeling approach to make it feel lighted and alive. The Instagram gradient, made up of our trademark colors, is the foundation of our whole color scheme.

“Through illumination, the gradient signifies moments of discovery in our marketing, logo and even in-app as seen in Create mode, stickers and Instagram Story rings. We are pleased to bring life to the Instagram experience with the vibrancy of our reinvented gradient,” it added.

Instagram Sans is a way for the company’s worldwide community to express themselves on Instagram in places like Stories and Reels.
