According to 9to5Google, Google plans to offer a new function called Personalised voice recognition to the popular Android digital assistant.

The new functionality will help Google Assistant recognize users’ voices more accurately and remember frequently used phrases, names, and other information.

This feature enables users to save audio recordings on their phones to aid with the recognition of what they say to the Google Assistant.

According to the source, the future feature extends machine learning gains beyond “Hey Google,” particularly about the names used by the user’s voice for messaging contacts and their often uttered terms.

This functionality will most likely allow for more sophisticated command and contact name recognition. However, there is currently no estimated deployment date for this functionality.

According to Google, users will also be able to deactivate the function and remove any saved voice data on their phones. The audio files will remain on the device until the position is turned off.

Meanwhile, according to the article, if a user disables the function, the assistant would be less accurate at distinguishing names and other commonly spoken terms. This device will be cleared of any audio utilized to enhance speech recognition.
