Garmin Forerunner 255, 955 smartwatches launched with a racing widget, morning report feature 

In the United States, the Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 smartwatches were released on Tuesday. 

These watches are part of Garmin’s Running smartwatch lineup, with the Forerunner 255 serving as an entry-level model for budget-conscious runners and the Forerunner 955 serving as the flagship model for top runners. 

These wearables come with a huge battery, built-in GPS, extensive statistics, and adaptable training regimens, among other things. They now have a race widget and a morning report’ that summarizes sleep, healing, and training.

Price and availability of the Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955

The Garmin Forerunner 255 is available in three different variants. The Garmin Forerunner 255 is available in 46mm and costs $349.99 (approximately Rs. 27,100). The Forerunner 255S costs $349.99 and comes in a 41mm size (roughly Rs. 27,100). 

The third model has built-in storage. It comes in two sizes: Forerunner 255 Music (46mm) and Forerunner 255S Music (46mm) (41mm). Both are available for $399.99. (roughly Rs. 31,000).

There are two versions of the Garmin Forerunner 955: Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 955 Solar. The normal model costs $499.99 (approximately Rs. 38,750) and the solar version costs $599.99 (about Rs. 38,750). (roughly Rs. 46,500).

In the United States, the Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 955 are both available for purchase on the Garmin website.

Specifications for the Garmin Forerunner 255

The 1.3-inch display on the Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 255 Music has a resolution of 260×260 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. 

The Garmin Forerunner 255S and Forerunner 255S Music, on the other hand, have 1.1-inch screens with a resolution of 218×218 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

There is a built-in triathlon function on all Forerunner 255 models and compatibility for over 30 sporting activities. Other sports-related elements include recommended workouts, marathon training schedules, and gym routines. 

A new feature is a Race Widget, which provides race training suggestions, customized daily recommended exercises, and completion time forecasts. You also receive a morning report,’ which aggregates your day’s data and displays it when you wake up.

Heart rate, sleep, and SpO2 monitoring is included in the Forerunner 255 models’ Body Battery functionality and water tracking and women’s health tracking. May use the Garmin Connect app to retrieve the data from these features. 

All smartwatches come with Garmin Pay, a 5ATM water-resistant certification, and smart notification capabilities. The Music versions have a storage capacity of up to 500 tracks.

Bluetooth and ANT+ connectivity are available on all models. The Garmin Forerunner 255 and Forerunner 255 Music have a battery life of up to 14 days. On a single charge, the smaller Garmin Forerunner 255S and Forerunner 255S Music variants are touted to provide up to 12 days of runtime.

Specifications for the Garmin Forerunner 955

The Garmin Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 955 Solar include all of the capabilities of the Forerunner 255 models, plus the ability to provide more dynamic training and activity statistics. 

Both variants include a 1.3-inch display with a resolution of 260×260 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass DX protection. Both have the new Race Widget and the morning report’ function. 

Both Forerunner 955 variants come with 2,000 song storage, unlike the Music versions.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ANT+ are available connectivity choices for the Garmin Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 955 Solar. 

The Forerunner 955 is said to have a battery life of up to 15 days, while the solar version is said to have a run duration of up to 20 days. They have a water resistance rating of 5 ATM.
