Elon Musk promises to raise Twitter's standards after takeover

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has said that he will drastically raise work ethic requirements once he formally owns Twitter.

Twitter said last week that it has agreed to be bought by Musk for $44 billion in a transaction that is still subject to shareholder approval.

On Friday, Musk stated on Twitter, “Work ethic standards would be severe, but considerably less than I demand of myself.”

He went on to say that the business will be “very focused on hardcore software engineering, design, information security, and server hardware.”

Musk has said that he wants to transform Twitter’s position in public discourse, stating that “free speech is the backbone of a functional democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where subjects crucial to humanity’s future are contested.”
