Apple's Mixed Reality Headset

Apple has been working on a mixed reality headset with VR and AR features for a few years now, but it hasn’t been ready yet.

The headset has been hit with more delays, and its launch date has been pushed back to early 2023. There is a good chance that the headset won’t be able to go to the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

A new report says that Cupertino-based Apple could show off its mixed reality headset in late 2022. Sales are expected to start in early 2023, the report says.

People who saw the 9to5Mac report say Apple’s new headset may not be ready until the first quarter of 2023. It also says that Apple plans to sell about 1 million headsets in the first year of its sales.

Apple is making a new chip for this mixed reality headset. It could also have more than 10 sensors, which could be good for companies like Sony, Will Semi, Sunny Optical, and others that make parts for it.

It has been said that Apple could charge $2,000 (about Rs. 1,52,530) or more for this new headset. The headset is said to have been in development since 2015.

Apple has reportedly had problems with the overheating, the cameras, and the software. This has caused long delays. One of the chipsets should be as powerful as the M1 Pro.

Reports say that two chips may be to blame for the problems with the heat. They’re also told to be having issues with the AR cameras on the headset.

If you buy a mixed reality headset from Cupertino, it’s thought that the company has big plans for the future. It is rumored that it will be able to use this headset in iOS 16. The company wants to replace the iPhone with mixed reality headsets in a decade.
