Alec Baldwin wants to get rid of the grand jury charges for accidentally shooting a cinematographer

Actor Alec Baldwin, involved in a deadly shooting on the set of the movie Rust in 2021. He is trying to get the charges against him dropped.

He was charged with involuntary manslaughter in January for the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Baldwin says he is not guilty. His lawyers claim that the prosecutors needed to give the grand jury all the information they needed.

They say essential evidence and witness statements, such as those from Director Joel Souza, Assistant Director Dave Halls, and Props Master Sarah Zachry, were omitted.

Baldwin’s legal team believes these witnesses could have explained what happened during the shooting and shown that Baldwin is not to blame.

Baldwin is proactive in his defense by challenging the charges to avoid a trial.
